Getrude is a child who was abandoned by her father and her mother has no source of income so she is dependent on Getrude’s great-grandmother who is a guardian to 7 other great-grandchildren for support. Her responsibilities are more than any guardian can handle living in the rural with only one source of income by selling groundnuts and sweet potatoes. Unfortunately this income isn’t enough to support Getrude’s educational needs.
